POLICE-DEC RAID GEORGE CHISANGA’S LAW FIRM IN LUSAKA

Police and Drug Enforcement Commission officers have conducted an operation at the offices of KMG Chisanga Advocates and Notaries in Lusaka, seeking to seize property from the law firm.

The operation, however, was later withdrawn following engagement with the firm’s representatives.

Lawyer Norman Siwila of Mulungushi Chambers, representing KMG Chisanga Advocates and Notaries, has confirmed that the officers visited the firm’s offices, introduced themselves as law enforcement agents and indicated that their mission was to seize property.

Mr Siwila says the officers did not specify exactly what property they were looking for, but after discussions with the legal representatives, they were subsequently informed that the operation had been withdrawn.

The development comes as the firm’s proprietor, lawyer and former lawmaker George Chisanga, remains in custody at Mukobeko Prison in connection with the treason case in which he is jointly charged with Brian Mundubile, Makebi Zulu and 15 others.- Diamond Tv
