Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said Kamba is in police custody.
“The Zambia Police Service confirms that Mr. Kennedy Kamba is in police custody in connection with an ongoing investigation. Further information will be provided in due course,” Chilabi said.
Meanwhile, the party said Kamba was arrested at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport while picking up his daughter.
In a statement, NRPUP Chief Presidential Advisor and Tonse Alliance Secretary General Chris Zumani Zimba said lawyers had been engaged to follow up on the arrest.
“Our lawyers have been immediately activated to follow up and understand this sudden police arrest,” Zimba said.
Police did not provide details on the nature of the investigation.
