MPIKA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON PETITION

Our newly elected Council Chairperson, Councillor Chola Chilumba, who won with 26,287 votes, has been petitioned by his closest competitor, who received 5,836 votes.

We now await the determination of this matter through the established and competent judicial processes. We have full confidence in due process and trust that justice will be served in accordance with the law and that the will of the people will be respected.

To you, the people of Mpika, I appeal to you to remain calm, peaceful, united and prayerful. We have a country to protect, and regardless of the circumstances we face, the peace and unity of our people must always come first.

Please keep Councillor Chola Chilumba and all of us in your prayers during this difficult time. We are going through a lot, but we remain strong in faith, trusting that God will see us through every trial and tribulation.

Our hope is in the Lord. No matter how difficult the journey may become, we believe that God will never forsake us.

May His will be done, and may He continue to grant us strength, wisdom and peace through it all. 🙏
