Lusaka South University College (LSUC) has announced that it has been officially featured in the Government Gazette of Zambia, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s journey toward becoming a premier centre for higher learning and innovation.

The Government Gazette is the official legal publication of the Republic of Zambia.

Being gazetted, alongside accreditation by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), grants LSUC the legal mandate to award internationally recognised certificates and degrees, conduct high-level research, and provide expert consultancy and professional short-term training.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Peter Chikubula noted that the recognition is a testament to the institution’s commitment to quality.

Mr Chikubala said the recognition is a demonstration of trust in the institution by the Government.

“Our official gazetting is more than just a legal formality, it is a seal of trust from the Government. It enables us to empower our students with qualifications that are respected world-over, ensuring they can compete in the global marketplace,” Mr Chikubula said.

He said over the years, LSUC, also registered under TEVETA, has been at the forefront of addressing national challenges through specialised skills training.

Mr Chikubala said the college has made a significant impact in the renewable energy sector, specifically in solar technology.

“By building local capacity during periods of national load shedding, LSUC has provided Zambians with hands-on skills necessary to achieve a sustainable energy mix and support the nation’s green energy goals,” he said.

Mr Chikubala emphasised that LSUC is dedicated to producing graduates who possess the practical skills required to transform and grow the Zambian business landscape.
