Newly elected Kabwata Member of Parliament Danny Yenga has pledged to ensure that all residents of the constituency have equal opportunities to thrive, regardless of their political affiliation.

Yenga says his responsibility as MP will be to serve the entire Kabwata constituency and not only those who supported him in the August 13 general election.

“My job is to ensure all residents of Kabwata get equal opportunities to thrive regardless of political affiliation,” Yenga said.

He said he would execute the role to the best of his abilities while ensuring that no one is left behind.

Yenga, who contested the Kabwata seat on the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) ticket, was elected in the 2026 parliamentary election. His election victory has since been followed by calls for the new MP to deliver on the commitments made during the campaign.

In a statement issued shortly after his victory, Yenga said the election was not about him or his family but about every resident of Kabwata.

He also said he had signed what he described as a social contract with the electorate and a performance-based contract, telling residents to hold him accountable for the promises he made.

“It is now time to go to work and bring development to the people of Kabwata,” he said.

Yenga’s latest commitment places political inclusiveness among the expectations he has set for his tenure, particularly in a constituency where residents supported candidates from several political parties and independents.

His pledge to leave no one behind will now be measured against how his office serves residents across the political divide during his term.
