JONES KASONSO DIES IN THE DIASPORA

Zambian political critic Jones Kasonso has died in Seattle, Washington, United States.

Kasonso, who was known for his outspoken criticism of the UPND administration and President Hakainde Hichilema, reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday.

He previously attracted public attention following reports of a domestic dispute involving his former wife. The matter reportedly resulted in police involvement and the couple later divorced.

In recent years, Kasonso became known for his strong criticism of the UPND Government and President Hichilema. He had also made controversial remarks about the President, including statements in which he reportedly wished him dead.

The Zambian Diaspora Network has announced his death and expressed condolences to his family and loved ones.

“We send our condolences to the family and loved ones, and pray that God comfort them in this time of grief.

“We will let the community know the details and the way forward as information reaches us. May his soul rest in peace,” said Sidique Geloo.
