IRAN DECLARES BEIRUT AND SOUTHERN SUBURBS A ‘RED LINE,’ WARNS ANY NEW CONFLICT WOULD BE DIFFERENT
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, has said that Beirut and its southern suburbs are a “red line” for Iran, warning that any potential future war would be different from previous conflicts.
Speaking to Al-Manar, Rezaei said: “Beirut and its southern suburbs are our red line, and any potential war would be different from the previous ones.”
He also warned that Iran would respond to any economic escalation with countermeasures targeting U.S. economic interests across the region.
Rezaei’s remarks underline Tehran’s increasingly direct warnings over potential escalation in Lebanon and the wider region, amid continued tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.
