Independent Kondwani Winga wins Chifubu seat
INDEPENDENT candidate Kondwani Winga has been elected Member of Parliament for Chifubu Constituency after polling 15,552 votes. Winga defeated UPND candidate Lloyd Lubosha, who received 8,322 votes. Resolute Party candidate Frank Ngambi finished third with 6,516 votes. Assistant Returning Officer Jimmy Chakupa announced the results. Assistant Returning Officer Jimmy Chakupa announced the results. Independent William Mwale polled 668 votes, while Citizens First candidate David Nyirenda received 226 votes.
A total of 31,946 votes were cast, with 661 ballots declared invalid.
In his victory statement, Winga thanked voters and pledged to deliver development.
“Chifubu Constituency, thank you so much! We have done it. This victory belongs to the people of Chifubu Constituency,” Winga said.
