Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré has vowed that his country will continue defending its territory, sovereignty and national independence using every means at its disposal.

Traoré also thanked those supporting Burkina Faso, stressing that, in his view, the struggle extends beyond his country’s borders.

🚨 Traoré also reportedly paid tribute to Nigerien forces loyal to the government in Niamey and members of Russia’s Africa Corps, praising their role in helping repel an alleged coup attempt in Niger’s capital.
