Fighting Intensifies in the Red Sea as Houthis and Saudi-Backed Forces Exchange Strikes
The conflict has increasingly shifted toward the Red Sea, where Yemen’s Houthi movement announced a blockade of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and claimed missile strikes against Saudi Aramco oil facilities.
In response, Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces launched airstrikes targeting Houthi weapons depots and drone launch sites in the provinces of Marib and Al Jawf, as fighting intensified across the region.
The escalation comes as military activity inside Iran has temporarily declined, raising concerns that the wider regional conflict is expanding into new theaters surrounding one of the world’s most strategic maritime trade routes.
