Farewell Service for slain Mutotwe Kafwaya today

The Tabernacle of David Assembly-City Mission Church in Lusaka is today expected to host a farewell Service for former cabinet minister in the PF government Hon Mutotwe Kafwaya who was killed on August 14 in the election chaos.

Kafwaya, former Lunte MP was until his death serving as one of the Elders at the Tabernacle of David Assembly-City Mission Church.

The Farewell Service will be held at the Tabernacle of David Assembly-City Mission Church along Given Lubinda Road (previously called Lilayi Road), according to the official church programme.

Kafwaya was shot and killed on August 14 when State Security apparatus raided a property linked to leading opposition leader Brian Mundubile in Lusaka’s upmarket Kabulonga area.

According to Police Inspector General Graphael Musamba, the 49-year-old politician was killed in the raid that also saw 11 other people arrested on accusations they were involved in militia and insurgency activities to overthrow President Hichilema’s regime.

Mundubile who is currently under international protection has rejected the accusations and challenged the regime to provide evidence of the alleged plans to oust President Hichilema.

It still remains unclear where and when Kafwaya will be put to rest.
