MWEEWTA WINS CHOMA CENTRAL PARLIAMENTARY SEAT

Cornelius Mweetwa has scooped the Choma Central constituency after polling 18,495 votes.

He defeated his closest rival, Baker Chakwana, who garnered 14,803 votes.

Mweetwa was declared the winner at Choma Municipal Council.

He thanked the people of Choma Central for their confidence and support.

Speaking shortly after the declaration by returning officer Rebecca Kalumba on Sunday afternoon, Mweetwa called for peace and unity.

He urged supporters and political opponents to put aside their differences.

He said they must work together for the development of Choma Central.

Mweetwa added that the election is now behind them.

He emphasised the need for residents to remain united as they focus on the future.
