Government has commended the church for partnerships that enhance the livelihood of citizens.

In the latest development, Eastern Province Permenant Secretary (PS), Paul Thole has specifically commended the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP), for its contribution towards the provision of quality healthcare services, by constructing a health facility in Mwase chiefdom, in Lundazi.

Phalaza Health facility has been constructed at a cost of K2.6 million.

In a speech read for him by his deputy, Dr Lewis Mwape during the commissioning of the facility, the PS said the facility which is expected to service over 4,500 people will significantly reduce on distances that people were covering to access health services.

“I wish to commend the CCAP Synod of Zambia for complementing government efforts in the provision of quality healthcare, for our people in this area,” Mr Thole stated.

The Health Facility is structured with solar power, three staff houses with power installations and two ablution blocks.

The facility also boasts of an incinerator facility, a mother’s shelter, and a borehole facility to ensure the provision of clean and safe water.

The project was executed at a total cost of K2,672,947.
