Police have not picked up NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, according to Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi.

Brian Mundubile has been picked up by police and is currently at Twin Palm Police Station in Ibex.The Electoral Commission of Zambia has lifted its suspension on the counting and announcement of election results, allowing the electoral process to resume across the country.

However the development comes as Zambia’s main opposition leader and presidential candidate, Brian Mundubile, has been arrested and taken into police custody. He is currently being held at Twin Palm Police Station in Ibex.

The resumption of vote counting and the arrest of the main opposition leader come at a critical moment in Zambia’s election, following the earlier nationwide suspension of counting and announcement of results.
