NRP-UP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has accused authorities of repeatedly obstructing his party’s campaign activities ahead of next month’s general election.

Speaking after a campaign tour of four provinces, Mr. Mundubile condemned the disruption of the party’s recent roadshow in Lusaka and criticised the use of tear gas against supporters. He also called for an investigation into the injury of a 10-year-old girl during the incident.

Mr. Mundubile further accused the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) of applying electoral regulations inconsistently. He urged both local and international election observers to closely monitor the entire electoral process, stating that, “An election is not an event; it is a process.”

His remarks come amid continued debate over the conduct of political campaigns as parties intensify their activities ahead of the August 13 general election.
