The printing of ballot papers for Zambia’s 2026 General Election has reached 86 percent, with preparations for their shipment to the country underway.
Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing General Manager Lakshmanan Ganapathy disclosed the progress during a tour of the company’s printing plant in Dubai attended by Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Commissioners MacDonald Chipenzi and Ambassador Ndiyoi Mutiti, along with other election stakeholders.
Ganapathy said ballot papers and other election materials for 34 constituencies have already been packed, with a total of 41 pallets prepared for shipment.
He further announced that the first aircraft transporting the ballot papers is expected to arrive in Zambia on July 26, 2026.
He said additional flights carrying ballot papers and election materials will continue arriving daily until July 31, 2026, as the Commission finalises preparations for the August 13 General Election.
