Your core duties will include: Preparing and posting recurring and non-recurring journal entries across various entities Supporting month-end and year-end close processes to deliver precise financial reports Compiling accruals, adjustments, and detailed supporting schedules for period-end close Processing intercompany transactions and assisting with consolidation activities Maintaining prepaid expense and amortization schedules alongside related reconciliations Generating financial reports, trial balances, general ledger reports, and supporting documentation Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Conducting variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance Supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and ad hoc financial analyses Preparing management reports and departmental financial summaries Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations with thorough documentation Reconciling bank accounts, payroll, accounts payable, and other balance sheet items Investigating and resolving discrepancies between general ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, and external records Maintaining organized, audit-ready accounting workpapers Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, GAAP, and company standards Supporting internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests Contributing to process improvements that enhance financial controls and reporting accuracy Qualifications and Experience Candidates applying for this role should meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline CPA qualification or active CPA candidacy is a significant advantage Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience with responsibility for month-end close activities Strong background in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting Experience managing accounting for multiple entities, ideally five or more Preference given to candidates with experience supporting U.S.-based accounting operations or shared services environments Industry experience in construction, utilities, commercial real estate, or related sectors is advantageous Proficiency with NetSuite ERP is required; familiarity with NetSuite OneWorld is highly preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, named ranges, and financial reconciliation workbooks Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools Knowledge of AP automation tools, payroll integrations, or other financial system integrations is a plus Why Pursue Senior Accountant Jobs in Lusaka with Zimworx?
