Heavy Equipment Mechanic Jobs in Kansanshi and Surrounding Areas We are seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our team. Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy mobile equipment used in mining and earth-moving operations. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy mobile equipment to ensure optimal performance Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to resolve issues efficiently Carry out planned maintenance and respond promptly to breakdown repairs Replace components following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards Accurately complete maintenance records and job cards Adhere strictly to safety procedures and professional maintenance standards Requirements and Qualifications: Craft Certificate, Advanced Craft Certificate, Trade Test Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Mechanical or Heavy Equipment Engineering, or related disciplines At least 5 years’ experience working on heavy mining or earth-moving equipment Proven experience with Komatsu excavators, dozers, dump trucks, CAT 777 trucks, or similar machinery Strong understanding of planned maintenance systems and breakdown repair processes Opportunities for Maintenance Planners in Kansanshi JV Chantete also invites applications for the role of Maintenance Planner. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient scheduling and execution of maintenance activities for heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage weekly and monthly maintenance plans for heavy mobile equipment Prepare and oversee work orders, job cards, and service schedules Coordinate maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of planned tasks Monitor maintenance backlog and prioritize jobs effectively Track servicing and component replacements to maintain equipment reliability Generate and analyze maintenance reports and performance metrics Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and safety standards Requirements and Qualifications: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Planning, or a related field 2 to 3 years’ experience in maintenance planning within mining, construction, or heavy equipment sectors Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is advantageous Good knowledge of planned maintenance processes and systems Familiarity with Komatsu, CAT, Bell, or similar heavy equipment is a plus How to Apply Interested candidates should submit their detailed CVs exclusively via email to info@jvchantete.com.
