Coach operators to promote safe work habits and correct unsafe practices. Participate in safety investigations alongside the safety department, implementing corrective and preventative measures. Verify that drilling procedures and equipment checklists are correctly followed and documented. Ensure construction of safety berms and that ground conditions meet required standards, including groundwater, voids, cavities, joints, and underground workings. Maintain proper drill pattern demarcation, barricades, and signage according to standards. Enforce compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for all supervised equipment. Required Competencies and Experience Proven experience in drill operations, including knowledge of various drilling techniques and operating procedures. Ability to monitor drill machine performance, identify operational issues, and apply corrective actions effectively. Experience conducting quality assurance checks and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Hands-on experience with drill equipment selection, operation, and condition monitoring to support maintenance and reliability. Demonstrated capability to safely operate and supervise drilling equipment within a mining environment while achieving production targets. Qualifications and Additional Requirements Full Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum of five credits. Diploma in Mining Engineering is required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field is an advantage. Valid Zambian Driver’s Licence. At least three to five years of relevant mining experience, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
