PURPOSE Manage all aspects of the Grade Control programme. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function. Production: Grade control data validation and database management. Verification of grade control ore mark outs in the field Liaise with plant to ensure ore quality parameters are being met, recoveries are within stipulated boundaries and optimum ore blending strategies are being achieved. Manage a team of field technicians in pit to ensure that daily blend plans are achieved and mined ore is directed to the correct destinations Manage stockpile inventory. Ensure all daily and end of month reporting is of a high standard  Provide feedback to mine planners and senior resource geologist on issues. RC grade control program; Manage RC drilling programme that will delineate an array of complex geological features in the Kansanshi deposit. Liaise with Senior mine geologist to evaluate current drill pattern design and ensure they remain practical, given increased geological knowledge and changes to ore domains in the deposit. Manage a large team of field technicians and samplers. Ensure all drilling and sampling works are carried out in the safest possible manner. Manage the drilling contractors and ensure conformance to quality and safety standards as stipulated in the drilling agreement. Manage the flow of sample data from the pit through the lab and into the database. Liaise with the database administrator to ensure that data is accurate and stored securely. Manage QA/QC programs, highlight and resolve accuracy issues with the onsite laboratory. Continued development of global best practice sampling standards and procedures QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science (Geology) or Bachelor’s degree plus Honours in geology, mining geology or equivalent. EXPERIENCE At least 3-5 years of experience in Mining Geology. Base metals and open pit experienced preferred.
