Divisional Manager – Scaffolding

Purpose of the Role: To provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Scaffolding Division, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of scaffolding services. The role encompasses stock management, accounts and administration, compliance, financial oversight, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Operational & Stock Management · Oversee scaffolding stock control, including orders, deliveries, collections, stock takes, and housekeeping. · Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of scaffolding materials, tools, and equipment. · Coordinate logistics to guarantee timely delivery and collection from project sites. · Manage quotes, purchase orders (POs), invoicing, debtors, and delivery notes in line with company policies. · Ensure accurate documentation and smooth integration with company accounts and admin processes. · Collaborate with finance and admin teams to streamline reporting and compliance. Project & Team Leadership · Responsible to build the division ground up with the right talent and ensure sufficient man power for the division. · Lead scaffolding crews, supervisors, and support staff to meet project requirements and deadlines. · Ensure scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling are carried out safely and efficiently where required. · Provide training, mentorship, and performance management for division staff. Compliance & Safety · Enforce occupational health and safety standards across scaffolding operations. · Conduct inspections and maintain certification records for scaffolding structures. · Ensure adherence to local and international scaffolding regulations and company policies. Finance Oversight & Profitability · Take responsibility for the division’s profit and loss (P&L) performance. · Monitor revenue streams, operating costs, and margins to ensure profitability. · Full ownership of financial reports, budget forecasts, and variance analyses to be presented senior management. · Implement cost‑control measures and optimize resource allocation. · Contribute to strategic pricing decisions and contract negotiations. Strategic Planning & Reporting · Develop operational plans to align division output with company objectives. · Monitor resource utilization (manpower, equipment, materials) for efficiency and cost control. · Prepare and submit regular reports on division performance, risks, and opportunities. Authority & Accountability · Authority to approve scaffolding orders, allocate resources, and sign off on operational documentation. · Accountable for compliance with safety standards, financial targets, and operational efficiency. Minimum Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field highly advantageous. · Proven experience (5 years+) in a similar role, steel, mining, equipment rental, agriculture or related supply sectors. · Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. · Ability to analyse data and market trends for informed decision making. · Strong financial acumen with direct P&L management experience. Preferences · Candidate with proven experience in scaffolding, construction, or industrial operations. · Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. · Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
