A fire at New Soweto Market destroyed three makeshift restaurants and one electronic shop in the early hours of Thursday, police say.<\/p>\r\n
The Zambia Police Service said the blaze broke out around 03:00 hours at the market opposite Namununga School.<\/p>\r\n
Police public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi explained that security personnel on duty spotted smoke and flames coming from one of the restaurants and alerted police.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cOfficers from Lusaka Central Police Station, through New Soweto Police Post, responded with the Lusaka City Council Fire Brigade. The fire was extinguished around 04:30 hours,\u201d he said.<\/p>\r\n
Fortunately no injuries or deaths were reported and the cause of the fire has not yet been established and the value of property destroyed is still being assessed.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cAn inquiry file has been opened and investigations are ongoing. Police have urged the public to remain calm,\u201d Chilabi added.<\/p>\r\n

The facility will offer education up to Grade 12.<\/p>\r\n
Lotani Mbewe expressed the community\u2019s excitement about this development.<\/p>\r\n
Mbewe also pointed to a newly installed mobile phone network tower as proof of real progress.<\/p>\r\n
He said children from Magodi, Kachikoti, Wanga, Kampala, Magunda, Kwacha, Kalaye, Yonke, and Mshawa will benefit.<\/p>\r\n
Maureen Chirwa stated that families are thrilled their children no longer travel far for school.<\/p>\r\n

Ministry of Information and Media today received a courtesy call from Multichoice Zambia Limited, led by newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Averess Chela Ndhlovu.<\/p>\r\n
Permanent secretary Thabo Kawana said the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the partnership between the Government and the digital satellite television provider, with a focus on delivering value to the Zambian people.<\/p>\r\n
Kawana conveyed the sentiments of citizens regarding high subscription rates and the need to address the repetition of programmes. <\/p>\r\n
While applauding the company\u2019s commitment to promoting homegrown talent and increasing local content, Kawana requested that Multichoice deepen local content creation across all provinces to ensure Zambia\u2019s diverse culture is fully represented.<\/p>\r\n
\u201cThe Ministry also called for collaboration between Multichoice Zambia and the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS), which has an extensive reach across the country,\u201d he said <\/p>\r\n
Meanwhile, Ndhlovu assured that Multichoice remains committed to working with the Government to expand local content production and improve service delivery to subscribers. <\/p>\r\n

\u300b On TikTok, Jeremiah Ngomomo leads concerned parties as he claims he reported the issue to ZICTA, the Broadcasting Complaints Commission, the Zambia Association of Musicians, IBA, and Honourable Elvis Nkandu\u2014one of the letters was seen by Zedify Online.<\/p>\r\n
\u25a0 25th April \u2013 1st May 2026 \u2013 Social media buzz around the culturally inappropriate scenes intensifies as multiple social users talk about it, but the Yo Maps and Olios Records team remain silent.<\/p>\r\n
\u25a0 2nd May 2026 \u2013 B Flow and ZAM publish a statement that they reached out to YO MAPS on 26th April 2026 and later on to his team and Director Lo and reached a consensus to which they edited the inappropriate scenes from the \u201cBudget\u201d music video, and an edited version is already in circulation.<\/p>\r\n
They added that they found a mechanism to edit the video directly on YouTube without requiring a full takedown; a first attempt which wasn\u2019t successful was made and another was in progress.<\/p>\r\n
\u25a0 3rd May 2026 \u2013 Olios Records issues a statement by quoting ZAM\u2019s statement, saying they never reached out but they were open to dialogue.<\/p>\r\n
\u300b Yo Maps commented on the post that, contrary to ZAM president B Flow, he doesn\u2019t remember talking to him and he is not editing or removing any video from his YouTube channel.<\/p>\r\n
\u300b Kidist Kifle comments on the same post saying she would like to see ZAM do more than just play soccer on weekends and show up at airports.<\/p>\r\n
\u300b B Flow hits back at Kidist Kifle saying she should stay in her lane as she\u2019s not a musician before saying ZAM has done more for the singer, including helping him with visas and getting him booked for a show in Burkina Faso last year.<\/p>\r\n

Mainess revealed that efforts to dialogue through elders failed; hence the two went to court, from which they were divorced as the singer refused to reconcile despite her being celibate waiting for him.<\/p>\r\n

The dancehall rapper told the Kopala queen that he likes what she does (music) and proposed that they work on something together in Ndola with producer Kofi Mix.<\/p>\r\n
She hesitated and said she was having family time; therefore, she couldn\u2019t join him.<\/p>\r\n
Nez Long later invited her to a party, but she was hesitant to attend.<\/p>\r\n

Xaven, who was shy to explain further, said after the party, which she didn\u2019t attend, Nez Long followed her to where she was staying while drunk and she kept him outside for four hours until midnight because men are \u201csnakes,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\r\n
She said that she was not aware that he had stayed outside waiting after he told her that he was outside and she refused to let him in.<\/p>\r\n
The top female rapper, who had already taken a hot shower, finally gave in and let him into her room.<\/p>\r\n
